Sandstorm season

Sandstorm by KimPrint
Sandstorm, a photo by KimPrint on Flickr.

It went so quiet around midday as sand hung suspended in the air between gusts of wind. Strange day.

Abandoned

This is my first iPhoto slideshow – please click Vimeo logo and watch full screen – clearest online videos ever! It’s only a couple of minutes long and shows some of my images captured on Failaka in the Persian Gulf. Music courtesy of MobyGratisMore photos on Flickr.

Sandstorm rages on

It’s violent – stuff is crashing around out there and no amount of tape around the outside door is keeping sand out… Sorry for those caught out at work or on the road where it’s zero visibility. Here’s another vid of the storm rolling in.

No wind today so no kites on Messila Beach – I’ve taken a few photos there and have posted a bunch on flickr. Apparently this is the world’s largest spinner kite.

What fireworks?

It’s a double celebration today here in Kuwait – 50 years of independence and 20 years of liberation. Celebrations on the Gulf Rd will be hectic, so based on how well we could see last night’s firework display, the plan was to come back and watch from the rooftop. Maybe it will clear….

Paragliders prepare for 50/20

Powered paragliders bearing Kuwait’s colours practise for the 50/20 celebrations tomorrow. They’re zipping up and down the coast along the Gulf Rd and have a bit of a display going on near the towers.
